7-Layer Salad

  Ingredient

·         1 head iceberg lettuce

·         1 cup frozen peas, thawed

·         1 cup chopped green sweet pepper

·         1∕2 cup chopped green onions

·         1 cup mayonnaise

·         tablespoons sugar

·         Salt and pepper to taste

·         1∕2  cup shredded cheddar cheese

Green pepper – crisp juicy, and sweet, these peppers make salads taste even fresher.

Recipe

1.    Clean and slice the iceberg lettuce and put half on the bottom of a trifle bowl. Top with half each of the peas, green sweet pepper, and green onions.

2.    In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sugar, salt, and pepper.

3.    Put the mayonnaise mixture on top of the first layers. Put the last half of the lettuce on top of that. Add the remaining peas, green sweet pepper, and green onions. Top with the cheese.

4.    Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.  Makes 8 servings.
